Effective 1 de enero de 2024, FEP will follow CMS guidelines regarding eligibility for the FEP Medicare Prescription Drug Program (MPDP). FEP members will begin to receive new cards. FEP is transitioned in a phased rollout, so not all members’ cards will be distributed for 1 de enero. These members’ FEP ID cards will not change. There will be new pre-authorization requirements, benefits, and MPDP requirements. Please ensure you are checking the most updated 2024 benefit booklet to review for new services and high-cost drugs that require prior approval.
CVS will be the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) for MPDP.
MPDP ID card details:
- Member’s name will be displayed on their card (instead of the contract holder name).
- QR codes are added to the cards that drive members to their plan deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. (This information will no longer be listed on the card.)
- New cards will have the new Rx phone number.
- The MPDP ID number is the FEP Member ID.
FEP began mailing replacement ID cards to members enrolled in the FEP Blue Focus product option in 20 de noviembre23.
For benefit year 2024, the OOP maximums are changing for the FEP Blue Focus product option. Due to this change, a new ID card will be required. The replacement ID card will be a member level ID card. The contract holder and the family members on the contract will each receive a FEP member ID card. Members who receive the replacement card should begin to use the new ID card to access medical and pharmacy benefits, and to present at appointments. Members are asked to destroy their old card.
