As a reminder, inpatient Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) claims need to be submitted with occurrence code 70 along with the dates of the qualifying inpatient hospital stay. While BCBSRI does not deny inpatient SNF claims without the qualifying stay under Medicare Advantage, we do need to track this in our reporting to CMS.
