ChangeHealth Interqual 20 de abril22 Release – Informational Update

Subset: Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) 20 de abril22 IQ Revisions

  • Patients with asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis may be considered for treatment with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
  • Symptoms associated with aortic stenosis may be assessed by history, during physical examination or by pharmacological testing.
  • Changed Aortic velocity < 4 m/s and Mean aortic pressure gradient < 40 mmHg to Aortic velocity < 4 m/s at rest and Mean aortic pressure gradient < 40 mmHg at rest.  This change was made to streamline the criteria because hemodynamic measurements are more accurate when the patient is normotensive.
  • Life expectancy must be greater than 1 year to be treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement, regardless of the patient’s surgical risk level.
