BCBSRI is aware that its network providers continue to refer to/are using Brewster Ambulance Service for non-emergency transport services after our initial notice regarding their out-of-network status was sent on 24 de octubre de 2022. As a result, we are sending a second notification.
Effective 1 de enero de 2023, Brewster Ambulance Service (Brewster) has elected to leave BCBSRI Ambulance Network.
As a result, BCBSRI is asking all its in-network providers that are currently referring to or have used Brewster in the past, including but not limited to Hospitals, to utilize an in-network ambulance provider for non-emergency transportation services for all BCBSRI members and members of other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans nationally by 1 de enero. Please note, referring to or utilizing participating providers is an obligation of your contract with BCBSRI.
A listing of in-network private ambulance providers is attached to this notice. There may also be some city and town municipal/volunteer ambulance providers who provide non-emergency transport services. If you are using an in-network city or town ambulance provider for some of your non-emergency transports today or you're aware of a city or town provider that offers such services, you can utilize their services- if they are an in-network provider with BCBSRI.
Please feel free to contact Provider Relations at ProviderRelations@bcbsri.org with any questions.
