BCBSRI announces nonprofit partners for 2024 day of service – Blue across Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (25 de julio de 2024) – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has announced the nonprofit organizations that will benefit from Blue across Rhode Island 2024, the company’s signature day of service when hundreds of employees spend the workday volunteering at community and social service organizations across the state.
The theme of this year’s event – “Lucky #13" – celebrates the 13th anniversary of Blue across Rhode Island, which will take place on Friday, Sept. 13, and benefit 13 nonprofits that applied for support with their efforts to help Rhode Islanders. Blue across Rhode Island is one of the largest annual volunteer events of its kind in the state.
The nonprofits that will participate this year were revealed 24 de julio at a spirited kickoff for Blue across Rhode Island during which associates learned about this year’s volunteer opportunities from team leaders in preparation to begin signing up the next day.
“The kickoff generates real excitement for our day of service and that excitement builds throughout the summer as we prepare to lend a hand to our community-based partners, who work tirelessly year-round to make a difference in the lives of Rhode Islanders," said BCBSRI Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Carolyn Belisle. “We’re so excited to reach the 13th annual milestone that we couldn’t resist calling it Lucky #13; we’re looking forward to heading out to support our 13 partners on Friday, Sept. 13th."
The BCBSRI volunteers will support a variety of community-based organizations and their projects, including ones that address food, housing, dental care, mental health, and community recreation. The following are the 13 participating organizations that BCBSRI employees will support:
- Amenity Aid
