More options to control costs, offer choice

Managing the cost of healthcare benefits while still ensuring appropriate coverage is a challenge your clients know well. We’re working to make it easier with Network Blue New England Options, a first-of-its-kind plan here in Rhode Island. Options offers a right-sized regional network to help employers control costs, along with Standard and Enhanced benefit levels for PCPs, hospitals, and radiologists to enable member choice.

Standard providers offer the level of quality you’d expect from a BCBSRI network provider. Enhanced providers offer an improved experience through their commitment to deliver quality healthcare services in an efficient, cost-effective manner. That means provider choice for employees and lower overall premium costs (versus a comparable PPO plan) for your clients.  

As with all BCBSRI plans, in-network preventive services have no out-of-pocket costs. Referrals are needed in many, not all, cases. There are no benefit levels when seeing specialists, behavioral health, or substance use disorder providers/facilities, so employees’ copays will not be impacted by choice of network provider. 

Options will be available for both large and small group clients on 1 de enero de 2020.
